Many small business owners are professionals who have talents and skills in specific areas of expertise, often having spent the first part of their careers working for someone else. Once in their own business, they find themselves in the position of having to sell their own services or products, a notion which can be both stressful and distasteful.
Instead of reaching out and letting people know about what they do, they hide in their shell, letting opportunities for new business slip away. If this sounds familiar read: "Overcoming sales phobia".
And if you’re in the NYC area, I’ll be doing a workshop on this very topic on Tuesday, Jan. 30th 2007,from 7:30-9PM. Hope you can make it!
