The ROI of pay per click advertising has been somewhat controversial in the small business community, for ad campaigns use up a lot of the marketing budget for many small companies.
Anita Campbell of Small Business Trends has published an interesting article about the benefits of small business local search.
In the article, she interviewed Bill Slawski, an expert in local search and President of SEO by the Sea, Inc. to get some pointers on how to best use local search to market their business.
Anita writes: “Some small business owners don’t see the value of online advertising because they aren’t interested in attracting website visitors worldwide. Local search changes all that.
Studies show that the majority of small businesses draw customers from within a 50-mile radius. The good news is that a variety of tools make it easier for your business to be found by people searching for local businesses. And the tools are getting more precise and more intelligent as the search engine companies invest in local search technology.” Read the primer on small business local search.
